Season of Lights Block of the Month
Looking for a short-term seasonal Block of the Month? We’ve got a great one for you! We’re continuing our partnership with Morning Glory Designs for this delightful wall hanging/table runner. This program will run for five months and include the fabrics for all the blocks shown, the border, and the binding. This project is suitable for confident beginners to seasoned quilters and features traditional piecing, some easy applique, and some paper-piecing.
The quilt will be offered in two colorways – “Light” and “Dark”. The finished size will be approximately 26” x 58”, making this a gorgeous seasonal wall hanging or table runner. The patterns are not included in the fabric kits, but are available FREE from MORNING GLORY DESIGNS – simply click on that link, scroll down to "BOM" or "NEWSLETTER", sign up for the newsletter, and you’ll start receiving the newsletter and link for the free patterns, beginning in August 2019. The patterns are free for ONE MONTH, so don’t delay on getting the newsletter to get those free patterns! NOTE: The bonus blocks are free ONLY to newsletter subscribers, and are included in this project, so be sure to sign up for the newsletter if you haven't already.
As always, there is no additional cost for postage for this project. Unfortunately, due to USPS issues in getting our BOM products to our international friends, we are not offering this outside the USA at this time. We apologize for that but we can’t control what the postal service does with our international packages, which makes us very sad.

Button Basket Block of the Month
In a style reminiscent of California Faience tiles, we bring you the Button Basket Block of the Month from Morning Glory Designs. Founded in 1915 by William Bragdon and Chauncey Thomas, California Faience was among the most aesthetically refined and financially successful art pottery studios in the state’s history. From its inception the company produced tiles, decorative vases, bowls, jars and trivets, including popular “tea tiles”, until 1959. The studio’s most celebrated project was the famous Hearst Castle in 1927. The Faience tea tiles were widely copied by other tile companies including the Flint Faience Tile Company in Flint, Michigan, the Pewabic Pottery in Detroit, and Motawi Tileworks in Ann Arbor, Michigan, as well as a large number of smaller art pottery companies located along the Ohio River. The local access to high quality clay made these locations especially popular for the early 20th century art pottery movement.
Our Button Basket quilt is styled after these collectible art deco tea tiles, in colors reminiscent of the art deco period: soft tan, blues, yellow greens and peachy salmon.
This is a SIX-MONTH program so you can have this 53” x 53” quilt complete well before year’s end. Each month you’ll receive the FABRICS ONLY for the previous month's pattern released by Morning Glory Designs. The program includes fabrics for the top and binding plus postage, and there is no registration fee.
The patterns are NOT included with the fabric kit but are FREE from Morning Glory Designs. Be sure and sign up for Morning Glory Designs’ monthly newsletter (scroll down on the homepage until you see NEW BLOCK OF THE MONTH FOR 2019) – the link for the free monthly pattern is in the newsletter each month, but that portion of the pattern is only free that month. We will be shipping the first month's kits the first week of March (for the pattern released in February), and we're happy to include our international customers once again.
Starburst Blossoms Block of the Month
We are so excited to partner with Morning Glory Designs for the fourth year in a row to offer you fabric kits for the 2018 Starburst Blossom Block of the Month. Like bright blossoms that have landed on new-fallen snow, this 64" x 78" quilt sparkles with color and light!
As we’ve done in the past, Morning Glory Designs will release one FREE block pattern and bonus block pattern each month, beginning in January 2018, and ending in January 2019 with the free border pattern. We provide the fabric kits each month.
This year’s pattern combines basic piecing with fusible applique in the center of star blocks, for a fresh, inviting quilt that will be enjoyed by all. Our kits will have one White-on-White fabric as the background for the entire quilt, and all the vibrant colors will be executed in our gorgeous premium tonal batiks.
As always, there is no registration fee, and shipping is included in the price of the kits, so the price you see is exactly what you pay each month. This is a 13-month program, with one fabric kit sent to you each month, and the complete border/binding kit sent in the 13th month.
IMPORTANT: You MUST purchase the block patterns separately from Morning Glory Designs if you did not collect the free patterns issued in 2018. Purchase the pattern here.

Bad Girls of the Bible Stained Glass Window Block of the Month
This second block of the month quilt in our three-part series highlights “Bad Girls of the Bible”, and is a follow-up to “Slightly Bad Girls of the Bible.” This program features familiar and not so familiar women in the Bible: Eve, Potiphar’s wife, Lot’s wife, Sapphira, Delilah, Rahab and more. Each block represents the story in which the women appear, and it’s up to you to read the stories if you choose. The pattern itself includes a brief description of the story represented by each block, and the last page of the pattern booklet provides guidelines on setting up a book study in your home or church if you have an interest in doing so.
Our generous-sized lap quilt (54” x 72”) is made of premium batiks with solid black Pimatex on a limestone-brick background and encompasses both traditionally piecing and easy paper-piecing techniques. (If you’re new to paper-piecing this is a great project with which to start – super easy foundations let you see how easy and rewarding this technique can be!) We also include our exclusive tips and tricks for success with each block along with directions for framing each window and enlarging the quilt to the size shown (54" x 72"). Choose from the 5-month program for $28/month (USA), the 11-month program for $15/month (USA), or the full kit (available HERE). As with all our BOMs, shipping is included in the monthly price, and there is no registration fee. First kits will begin shipping in early October.
Life on the Reef Block of the Month
From Barbara Bieraugel Designs, we’re thrilled to offer this follow up to Colorful Tropics: “LIFE ON THE REEF”. Life on the Reef is a 10-month program that results in a large (48” x 52”) wall hanging or small lap quilt. The easy patchwork background gives beautiful movement to this design. Swimming through the patchwork “reef” you’ll notice a sea turtle, Achilles Tang, Yellow Tang, Humuhumunukunukuapua’a (aka Humuhumu or the reef, rectangular, or wedge-tail triggerfish), Moorish Idol and a sea horse or a bottom of sea grass, kelp, elk horn coral and fan coral. The applique can be done with fusible or by hand – it’s your choice. Barbara’s excellent directions and tips make this an easy project to complete (even for those of us who shun the dreaded “A” word).
As with all our BOMs, there is no registration fee and shipping is included in the monthly cost – no hidden charges and no surprises! You pay exactly what you see here: this 10-month program is $21 per month for our USA customers, $27 per month for our Canadian friends (to cover the additional shipping). First kits will begin shipping in mid-October and quantities are limited!

Appalachian Memories Block of the Month
We call this "Grandpa's Barn Quilt" because each one of these beautiful barn blocks were lovingly hand stitched by Grandpa! Designed by Beth Dix of Primrose Lane in North Carolina, "Appalachian Memories" is one of a series called "Mama's Quilts" dedicated to Beth's mother Dolores.
We created our Block of the Month program to be as simple as possible so that beginners and experienced stitchers alike can enjoy making this beautiful 74" x 92" quilt. All the fabrics for the top & binding are premium quilt shop batiks and the thread is Sulky's 12-wt in a beautiful chocolate brown. Additionally, we provide you with pre-printed embroidery designs on Fabri-Solvy so there is no tracing required on any of these blocks!
We offer this program in a 13-month program for $22/month, or if you're an over-achiever we have a 6-month program for $40/month. As with all of our BOM programs there is no registration fee and shipping is included in your monthly cost. You get no added charges and no surprises!
