Do you love “Southwest Sunrise” as much as we do? We’re pleased to offer this beautiful and meaningful quilt as a full kit now – with or without the pattern. Originally offered as a Block of the Month program, this project can now be purchased as a complete kit. It features the stories behind the symbolism represented by each block. Southwest Sunrise calls upon symbols and cosmology of many Southwest tribes, including the Zuni, Pima, Navajo, Hope, Pueblo, Mimbres, Apache and Tohono O’Ohdam. The iconography of each tribe’s belief system has become associated with this region of the United States, even among the non-Native Americans who live in the Southwest. When completed this quilt will tell a story – one about hope, about women, and about the ties that bind us to Mother Earth. It is a positive story with a happy ending and a gorgeous, meaningful quilt.
Our kit uses beautiful batiks from Hoffman and Timeless Treasures. The finished quilt measures approximately 86” square, or queen size.
We offer three options for this kit, along with the “pattern only” option:
1) Complete fabric kit + pattern – includes all the instructions, templates and layout sheets for the entire top, along with the fabric for the top and binding.
2) Fabric kit only – Includes all the fabrics for the top and binding; this is for those who have previously purchased the pattern separately.
3) Partial fabric kit only – Includes the fabrics for the top and binding EXCEPT for the center pottery block; this is for those who have taken Reeze’s applique class and already made the center block.
4) Pattern only.
