You should have heard the gasps when this quilt was revealed at Market! Another winning design from Julie Hermann of Jaybird Quilts, her original quilt was made with Kona solid brights on black. We were lucky enouh to snag a couple of kits from Kaufman which include the exact bright Kona colors Julie used, along with the pattern and special Sidekick ruler.
Perhaps the best thing about this pattern? NO "Y" OR SET-IN SEAMS! As with all of Julie's patterns, the directions are clearly worded and clearly illustrated, and you will be amazed at how quickly this quilt goes togehter.
Since we don't normally carry Kona solids - YET - we've put together kits for every size quilt you can make with this pattern using our beautiful batiks in the same colors Julie used. The picture shown for the lap size quilt is indicative of the fabrics used in our kits. As our fabric stock rotates, some fabrics may be substituted, but your kit will always contain the fabrics needed to make the quilt as close to shown as possible.
Please note that our batik kits do not include the pattern - it can be purchased separately here. Additionally, Julie's "Sidekick" ruler is not required to make this quilt but it sure makes it easier! It can be purchased separately here. (If you prefer, there are templates included in the pattern that you can copy onto template plastic. We just prefer using the ruler because we tend to slice slivers off our plastic templates.)
